ON THE ROAD Ⅰ | 2019

360 VR, 3D animation, approx.10 min.

‘On the Road’ creates a contemplative atmosphere by employing virtual animal representations and movements within constructed virtual landscapes,  exploring the intersection of human-imposed regulations and the intrinsic nature of the animal kingdom against the backdrop of roads at night.

The symbolic gesture of animals’ heads as candles serves as a conduit for conveying the broader implications of roadkill. These set up with the movements of these virtual creatures without demands or displaying hostility prompts viewers to reassess their perceptions of these beings. The artwork stands as not only commemorates the  animals killed in road traffic but also fosters a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness with the natural world.
