1-channel video, 01m 00s
This video was captured in a small aquarium located in the basement of the Natural History Museum. Inside the tank, freshwater fish swim rapidly in the artificial current, following their instincts. These fish are species that naturally thrive in strong currents, swimming against the flow as if they were in their natural habitat. The aquarium is designed to mimic their ecological conditions, yet within this small tank, their free movement as seen in the wild is somewhat restricted.
This piece aims to explore how living organisms adapt and survive at the boundary between nature and artificiality. Even within this small tank, the fish show that they are an inseparable part of nature. Their repeated motions of swimming forward and being pushed back highlight the power of nature, while simultaneously illustrating the struggle of life within an artificial environment.
